Bridal Indulgence bride Kim’s lace wedding dress is called Woodrose by Willowby. The bohemian-style wedding dress is perfect for relaxed brides who want to show their personality on their wedding day.
Woodrose fit perfectly with Kim’s style and theme for her wedding day. Choosing trainers over heels, a BBQ over a formal dinner and a macaroon tower over a wedding cake, the whole day was incredibly relaxed, natural and fun, just like Kim’s wedding dress.

How did you choose Woodrose by Willowby?
I wanted a ‘proper’ wedding dress that offered something a little different.
My best friend actually picked it out of the rack and as soon as I tried it on we knew it was the right dress for me. I felt fantastic in it on my wedding day and everyone agreed it was a very ‘me’ dress.
I didn’t really need alterations, however, it is very cut low at the front so I had a sheer piece of fabric put in, just to make me feel a little more confident wearing it.

What accessories did you choose? And where were these from?
I’m not a big fan of high shoes, for me, comfort is key so I wore Converse trainers and my bridesmaids wore the same.
I wore a necklace that my best friend (who was also my maid of honour) bought me, and I wore a flower hair clip.
My favourite flowers are peonies, which were included in my bouquets – so the clip matched the flowers.
What was your experience shopping at Bridal Indulgence?
I had a great shopping experience at Bridal Indulgence. The boutique is in such a lovely setting, and it was a fun, relaxed way to shop for a wedding dress.
In fact, it was the only wedding dress shop I visited. I went there specifically because when I looked at the wedding dresses on the website there were plenty I liked the look of, which wasn’t the case on many other websites.

Where did you get married?
We got married at Fredrick’s Hotel in Maidenhead. It’s a small hotel and they were very accommodating of us and our desire to have an untraditional wedding.
Who was your wedding photographer and how did you choose them?
We used Lee Alexander Photography. We met Lee at a wedding fair at Fredricks and we really liked his relaxed approach and the quality of his work.
We really wanted to avoid staged photos and Lee was happy to go with that, so most of the pictures are really natural.
Where did you get your hair/makeup done? What look did you go for?
I didn’t have my hair or makeup done professionally. The advantage of having two 16-year-old bridesmaids – my daughter and my best friend’s daughter – was that I could leave my hair and makeup to them!
Where did your bridesmaids and maid of honour get their outfits?
They all chose their dresses from Emma Louise Design. The girls chose blush pink dresses, whilst my maid of honour opted for grey.
I did treat myself to some new makeup, but I wanted to look pretty natural in keeping with the rest of the day.
What did you do for flowers?
Emma Curtis did my flowers, and again I met Emma at the Fredricks wedding fair. I sent Emma a swatch of the bridesmaids dress fabric, a copy of the wedding invitation and asked for peonies to be included, and then left the rest to her.
I was really pleased with the bouquets, they were just what we wanted.
Tell us about your caterers
We didn’t have a traditional three-course meal. Instead, we opted for afternoon tea, which was provided by Fredricks, and a BBQ in the evening. The food was amazing and everyone had plenty to eat, and again, it all fit with the relaxed feel of the day.
And how about your cake?
We didn’t have a cake, along with no speeches and no cake cutting, however, Steve’s son did make us a macaron tower, which not only looked spectacular but tasted amazing.

How did Steve’s choose his outfit?
Steve bought his outfit with my daughter’s assistance; she ensured his bow-tie coordinated with the bridesmaid dresses.
Steve was just sure that he didn’t want to dress up too much.
What transport did you have?
We didn’t have any transport as we had the wedding in a hotel – so no grand arrival.
What entertainment did you have for your guests?
We had a disco during the day and evening, and then later in the evening, we had a band called The Hype, who we booked through Warble Entertainment. They were absolutely fantastic and had everyone up on the dance floor.
What was the most memorable moment of your big day?
The service itself. Our registrar was fantastic and I really enjoyed the service. We had two great friends do readings for us, and the whole thing felt really inclusive and simply perfect.
Having recently had your wedding, what advice do you have for brides who are just about to have theirs?
Don’t over-stress about the small things. Nothing has to be perfect, just enjoy the day as it unfolds.
