Watters At New York Bridal Week: 4 Bridal Trends You Can Expect To See

Watters showcased their new Autumn 2024 collection at New York Bridal week and the catwalk was filled with so many beautiful designs! And there are some glorious trends emerging. So what can we expect to see 2025 brides wearing?

01. Floral appliqués

Floral appliqués were abundant, adding dimension and romance to bridal looks. Vogue’s report following NYFW Bridal Week said it best, “while florals may be synonymous with spring, almost every fall collection brought in the motif in fresh ways. One particular standout trend was the use of appliqués to create unique 3D floral moments.”

So flower lovers will be overjoyed to know that we’re bringing this Watters beauty to the Bridal Indulgence collection! Watters Halia is adorned in floral appliqués and available in two different colour choices: Ivory/Bronze and all Ivory.

02. Versatility

This trend continues to be a big one as brides wish to change up their look throughout their wedding day, without necessarily changing outfits.

According to The New York Times, “The updated shrug is a more sleek or stylised detail that’s converted from a detachable train or a wearable oversize bow detail, or a bolero that can also be worn for the after-party with a pair of white trousers and camisole.”

We already have a number of dresses from Bridal Indulgence that can be switched up. And coming to us soon from the Autumn 2024 collection is the Watters Agape gown with its detachable sleeves. We envision brides wearing Agape with sleeves for her ceremony and strapless for the evening to allow for all that dancing!

03. Trompe L’oeil Bra Necklines

“A bra peeking out from under a tank top or slip dress was a late-1990s and early 2000s trend that has recently resurfaced in celebrity street style and red carpet photos, so of course it has made its way to bridal in a chic way.” New York Times

Visible corsetry details are a great way to embrace this trend. We fell in love with the basque details on the Watters Lieve gown, which features polka dot tulle, and can’t wait for her to arrive at our Farnham Bridal shop!

04. Dropped Waists

The dropped waist was one of the hottest looks on the bridal runway and is set to be the biggest trend for 2025. “The Drop Waist Will Be Next Year’s Biggest Wedding Dress Trend” Vogue.

This dress shape is really flattering as it elongates the body, rather than cutting it off at the waist and gives a look of elegance and sophistication. With this style set to be a big hit, we couldn’t resist adding the iconic Watters Cordell gown to the Bridal Indulgence collection.

Inspired by the latest trends from New York Bridal Week, the Watters collection offers stunning designs for every bride. If you dream of wearing a Watters gown on your wedding day, we would love to welcome you for a personal appointment at our Farnham, Hampshire boutique.
