The Sparkling Wedding Dress That Was Perfect for Vegas
When Charlotte said “yes” to Robert’s proposal, she never imagined she’d be saying her vows in the glittering gardens of Caesars Palace, Las Vegas. But as soon as the couple decided on a wedding abroad, the vision for a fun, glamorous celebration came together – and with it, the search for her perfect dress.
A simple proposal after eight years of love
Charlotte and Robert’s love story began in 2016 when they met on a work trip to Singapore. Fast forward eight years, and the couple were enjoying a quiet evening at home when Charlotte teasingly remarked that Robert would never propose. “At that point, he pulled out a ring!” Charlotte laughs. “I said yes straight away.”
Finding Bridal Indulgence
When it came to finding her wedding dress, Charlotte turned to a friend for advice. “She recommended Bridal Indulgence and showed me photos of two girls she knew who had bought their dresses here. They both looked beautiful, so I went to look for myself. I wasn’t planning on buying immediately, but I found the one I loved – so I went for it. This was the only bridal shop I went to.”
Charlotte had spent time browsing the Bridal Indulgence website before her appointment, saving a few favourites. “I knew I was getting married in Vegas, so I wanted something sparkly! But I was open-minded and happy to see how I felt on the day.”
With her mum and sister by her side, Charlotte stepped into the boutique for what would become a truly special experience. “It made everything feel more real and we were treated like true VIPs by Dee. I loved trying on the dresses with a glass of champagne and being made to feel so special.”
Saying yes to the dress
Charlotte initially tried on a dress she’d spotted online, but it wasn’t quite right. “Then Dee suggested I try its sister dress, and it was perfect! I tried on other beautiful dresses but kept coming back to the second one. It was sparkly yet elegant, and I knew it was the perfect dress for a Vegas wedding.”
The House of Flora gown featured a shimmering design with a delicate train that felt striking without being over the top. “I got so many comments on the day, and I’m lucky that we’re having a second wedding party in the UK – so I get to wear it again!”
To complete her look, Charlotte wore a veil the same length as her gown’s train. “It wasn’t over the top but worked beautifully with the dress. I didn’t wear any jewellery – there was no need! I paired it with nude court shoes with a hint of sparkle and an off-white handbag with a gold chain.”
A Vegas wedding to remember
Charlotte and Robert had considered a big UK wedding, but once the idea of marrying abroad came up, their minds were made up. “We’ve been to Vegas a few times and always relax and enjoy ourselves there. We wanted the wedding to be fun – so where better?”
The couple tied the knot in the Venus Gardens at Caesars Palace with 16 of their closest friends and family. “The night before, we had a drinks reception in the High Roller with speeches and toasts. On the morning of the wedding, the girls went for brunch while the boys did the classic shooting experience before we all got ready.”
At 4:30 pm, under the warm Vegas sun (36 degrees, to be exact!), Charlotte walked down the aisle in her sparkling gown. “It was amazing to be at that point after a year of planning and nine years together. I wish I could do it all over again.”
After the ceremony, the newlyweds toasted with margaritas on the Spanish Steps, enjoyed dinner at Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen, and ended the night placing a bet on their wedding date. “We thought it might be our lucky number!”
A dress for memories
One of Charlotte’s favourite memories was walking through the casinos in her wedding dress. “Everyone was wishing us congratulations – it felt like we had a wedding party of hundreds.”
Looking back, Charlotte’s advice to other brides-to-be is to keep an open mind. “The dress you choose may not be the one you think you want initially. Having an idea of what you want for your wedding helps too before you go to choose.”
